Conor McGregor mimics famous UFC 205 victory speech in apology for Proper No. 12 shortage

In November of 2016, in the main event of UFC 205, Conor McGregor made good on months of pre-fight trash talk and knocked out Eddie Alvarez to become the first fighter in UFC history to hold titles in two weight classes concurrently.

Post-fight, with a belt strapped over each shoulder, the Irish star unleashed a victory speech that went down as an instant classic.

“I just want to say from the bottom of my heart, I’d like to take this chance to apologize…. to absolutely nobody,” McGregor proclaimed to the roar of the crowd. “The double-champ does what the f**k he wants!”

Fast forward two years to the present, and Conor McGregor no longer holds either of his UFC belts. That being said, he’s currently enjoying the spoils of an ultra-successful Irish whiskey called Proper No. Twelve, which is bound to be numbing the sting of his title losses.

In fact, McGregor’s whiskey has been such a success that there have been shortages in stores all across Ireland, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

For that, the Irish star apologizes — and this time he seems serious.

Speaking to Entrepreneur.com this week, Conor McGregor apologized for Proper No. Twelve deficits, subtly referencing his famous UFC 205 victory speech as he did.

“I don’t usually see reason to apologize but in this case I want to take this chance to apologize to absolutely everyone for our out-of-stock situation,” McGregor said. “We are also planning to launch in more countries in 2019 including the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Canada and others. We will continue to expand as quickly as possible to meet the global demand.”

Conor McGregor last fought on October 6, when he was submitted by UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov in the main event of UFC 229. At present, its not known when, or even if, he’ll fight again, although he’s recently been linked to a potential fight with Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone.
