Conor McGregor reflects on Max Holloway victory, Holloway issues unbelievable response
Conor McGregor is currently in Boston, where he attended a Boston Bruins game. Bruins home ice, to remind, sits inside TD Garden — the very same arena that played host to McGregor’s 2013 victory over Max Holloway.
Speaking on Twitter late on Saturday night, Conor McGregor reflected on his Boston beating of Max Holloway, who now owns the UFC featherweight title.
“McGregor’s Garden! Now where the fuck are them sunglasses?” McGregor wrote on Twitter.
Little did he know, he’d soon receive an absolutely scathing response from Max Holloway. The featherweight champion responded with a multi-part assault. See it below:
“lol there you are my bratha,” Max Holloway began. “glad you got to relive your best years today in Boston.”
“But if we talking about the past remember this: I was 21. You were 25,” he added, before comparing his and McGregor’s accomplishments at the ages of 21 and 25.
“Also Dennis beat me that summer too so if beating 21 year old Max is a trophy to you congrats you share it with Dennis,” Holloway continued, reminding that he was also defeated by Dennis Bermudez in the same summer that he lost to McGregor.
“You know who I share these trophies with? Nobody,” Holloway proclaimed boldly, flaunting his incredible career stats.
“And know this. I would beat 21 year old Max too but I would finish him in two rounds and not let him take my ACL,” Holloway concluded.
Needless to say, Holloway is not afraid to engage the notoriously silver-tongued McGregor in a war of words.
With Max Holloway set to fight Dustin Poirier for the interim lightweight strap at UFC 236, and Conor McGregor targeting a return in July, it seems quite likely that the two fighters could soon collide once more. Who do you think would come out on top in a rematch?
