Cruz, Faber and Garbrandt respond to callout from Henry Cejudo
Shortly after Henry Cejudo finished Marlon Moraes to become a two-division UFC champion, he laid out his “hit list,” naming three fighters he hopes to battle in the near future. Despite the emergence of new contenders like Petr Yan and Aljamain Sterling, Cejudo said he’s hoping for bouts with former UFC bantamweight champs Dominick Cruz and Cody Garbrandt, and Hall of Famer Urijah Faber.
All of these fighters have already responded to the new bantamweight champ Henry Cejudo, and all three seem to up for it in theory.
Dominick Cruz, who was working as an analyst for the card, replied on the UFC 238 post-fight show.
“I respect you,” Cruz said (via MMA Junkie). “Especially calling me out after you won your two belts, that’s probably a good time to have the confidence to try to do it. So that makes sense. I’m going to come back from this shoulder injury, and if you would pardon me with the opportunity, it would be my honor.”
Cody Garbrandt made his response to Henry Cejudo on Twitter, assuring he’ll be back at the top of division soon and welcoming a fight with the champ at that point.
Congrats @HenryCejudo good call out you know I’m the biggest drawl in the division. I’ll be back to the top soon 💪🏼💪🏼

“What a fight! Congrats @henry_cejudo still remember our convo 10 years ago,” Faber wrote in the caption of his post.
Speaking at the UFC 238 post-fight press conference, Henry Cejudo explained why Garbrandt, Cruz and Faber’s names were the first out of his mouth after winning the bantamweight belt.
“Because those are legends, man,” Cejudo said. “I want big fights. I’m on a legends rampage. That’s what I want. I’m a legend killer. … You guys wouldn’t like Dominick Cruz vs. Henry Cejudo? Right? Doesn’t that sound exciting?”
