Dana White names his two dream fights in the UFC

By Tom Taylor - April 2, 2019

UFC President Dana White can book any number of compelling matchups at any given time. Of all the possible matchups at his fingertips, however, there are apparently two that excite him most of all. They both include former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion Conor McGregor, and they’re both rematches.

The first of these Dana White dream fights would see Conor McGregor rematch undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather under the MMA rule set.

McGregor and Mayweather first met in 2017, in the boxing ring. On that night, McGregor had some success, but was ultimately stopped in the 10th round by his legendary foe.

In 2018, there was briefly some buzz surrounding a potential MMA rematch between Mayweather and McGregor, but that buzz ultimately fizzled out.

The second dream fight Dana White mentioned is a rematch between Conor McGregor and reigning UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

McGregor and Nurmagomedov first fought in October of 2018, in the main event of UFC 229. On that night, Nurmagomedov dominated McGregor to a fourth-round submission victory. UFC 229 shattered all previous fiscal records for the UFC and went down as the most successful pay-per-view in the promotion’s history, so it’s no surprise that Dana White is interested in this rematch.
