Tony Ferguson and Conor McGregor remain two of the best lightweight fighters in the world, but at the moment, it’s extremely unclear what the future holds for either man.

Conor McGregor, making millions through his numerous ventures outside the cage, would seem to have no financial impetus to fight again. Tony Ferguson, on the other hand, is dealing with some personal struggles that have rendered his status uncertain. Yet every fight fan with a pulse is hoping both men fight again soon.

Speaking at the UFC Fort Lauderdale press conference on Saturday night, Dana White provided updates — albeit very quick updates — on both lightweight stars.

The UFC president started with Conor McGregor. Apparently, he planned to meet with the Irishman in Miami, but will now discuss the former lightweight and featherweight champ’s fighting future at a rescheduled meeting in Los Angeles instead.

“I was supposed to meet with him down here, we’re going to meet in LA instead,” White said of Conor McGregor.

Hopefully this meeting provides some clarity about the Irishman’s fighting future. Stay tuned for updates.

Next up, Dana White updated on Tony Ferguson. Apparently, Ferguson is still waiting to be cleared to fight again.

“As far as I know right now Tony is still not ready to go — or I would be trying to book him,” White claimed.

What do you think the future holds for Tony Ferguson and Conor McGregor?
