Dillon Danis takes shot at Khabib Nurmagomedov

The beef between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor’s teams seems to be alive and well. On Sunday afternoon, McGregor training partner Dillon Danis took to Twitter where he took a quick shot at the UFC lightweight champ Nurmagomedov.

Danis’s comment came after Khabib Nurmagomedov reminded UFC Milwaukee main event loser Kevin Lee to “stay humble.” Evidently put off by this comment from Nurmagomedov, Danis told the Russian to shut his mouth.

“Stay humble Kevin Lee,” Khabib Nurmagomedov wrote on his official Twitter account. “Humble is the key.”

“Shut your mouth nobody cares,” Dillon Danis said in response.

While this comment has not garnered a response from Nurmagomedov at this time, his manager Ali Abdelaziz did chime in.

“Your time coming soon don’t worry punk,” Abdelaziz wrote to Danis.

Danis then replied with a screenshot of Abdelaziz’s MMA record.

This prompted another response from Abdelaziz, who promised a “talk” when they cross paths.

“When I see you will talk,” Abdelaziz said.

Khabib Nurmagomedov last fought at UFC 229 on October 6, when he defeated Conor McGregor by submission in the fourth round. Shortly after this victory, Nurmagomedov leapt over the side of the cage and attacked Dillon Danis. At the same time, McGregor swapped punches with a pair of Nurmagomedov’s training partners inside the cage. The parties involved in this chaotic post-fight brawl are currently awaiting discipline from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC). Sentencing is likely to be handed down in late January.

Dillon Danis last fought in April, when he submitted Kyle Walker in the first round of his debut MMA bout. Prior to his MMA debut, the American carved out a reputation as one of the top competitors in Brazilian jiu jitsu.
