Former UFC light heavyweight title challenger Dominick Reyes has sustained an injury, and is out of his planned fight with Jiri Prochazka.

Reyes was slated to fight Prochazka, the former RIZIN Fighting Federation light heavyweight champion, on February 28 in Las Vegas. According to a report from MMA Fighting, that unfortunately won’t be happening due to an undisclosed Reyes injury.

Thankfully, this Reyes vs. Prochazka fight is likely to rescheduled for a later date, according to UFC officials.

Dominick Reyes last fought in October, when he took on Poland’s Jan Blachowicz in a fight for the vacant UFC light heavyweight title, which had recently been relinquished by long-time champion Jon Jones. Despite entering the cage as a moderate betting favorite, Reyes succumbed to a Blachowicz onslaught in the second round.

Prior to that loss to Blachowicz, Reyes challenged Jones for the UFC light heavyweight title. The pair battled for five razor-close rounds, after which Jones was named the winner by unanimous decision. Many viewers, however, scored the fight in Reyes’ favor. With those two losses, he’s now 12-2 as a professional mixed martial artist, with wins over the likes of Chris Weidman, Volkan Oezdemir, and Ovince Saint Preux.

Jiri Prochazka, on the other hand, is 27-3-1 overall. He last fought in July, when he debuted in the UFC’s Octagon with an impressive knockout win over former light heavyweight title challenger Volkan Oezdemir.

Prior to his move to the UFC, Prochazka went an incredible 11-1 under the RIZIN FF banner. In the RIZIN ring, he picked up wins over the likes of CB Dollaway, Fabio Maldonado, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal, Brandon Halsey, Kazuyuki Fujita, Vadim Nemkov and Satoshi Ishii. His lone loss in that stretch came in an early fight with Lawal.
