Donald Cerrone sends message to Conor McGregor

Shortly after he defeated Al Iaquinta in the UFC Ottawa main event, Donald Cerrone once again expressed interest in a fight with Conor McGregor — if he’s not able to get a title shot instead.

“If Conor wants to fight, f*ck yeah, let’s go,” Cerrone said. “Especially in July, I’m ready, let’s turn and burn, baby. … Who knows? I’m gonna be sittin’ at home in a couple of months, bored, like, ‘F*ck. Fine. I’ll fight whoever, let’s go.’ But I love it.”

Speaking post fight, Donald Cerrone doubled down on his callout of McGregor, sending the Irishman a firm message.

“Get a grip on life, bro,” he said (via MMA Weekly). “Let’s go. Put your bank account against my bank account. Oh s—t, he’ll see my bank account and be like ‘I spent that at the bar’. July 4th, Conor McGregor. Let’s go, dude, let’s go. I would definitely derail for Conor. But Conor’s [ranked] No. 2 so it wouldn’t not make sense to fight him. I would love my next fight to be for a title but if Conor comes in, let’s go.”

With his win over Al Iaquinta, Donald Cerrone is now on a three-fight streak, having recently bested Mike Perry in the welterweight division, and Alexander Hernandez and Iaquinta in the lightweight division. Do you think we’ll see him fight Conor McGregor this year?
