Fighters react to tonight’s Mark Hunt vs. Justin Willlis fight at UFC Adelaide
Heavyweights Mark Hunt and Justin Willis collided on the main card of tonight’s UFC Fight Night 142 event in Adelaide, Australia.
Mark Hunt entered tonight’s contest looking to rebound, this after suffering back-to-back setbacks to opponents Curtis Blaydes and Alexey Oleynik in his most recent fights. Prior to that, “The Super Samoan” had scored a TKO victory over recent division title challenger Derrick Lewis.
Meanwhile, Justin Willis entered tonight’s contest sporting an overall record of 7-1. “Big Pretty” had picked up a unanimous decision victory over Chase Sherman at UFC Fight Night 128 in his most recent appearance.
Mark Hunt looked good in the fights opening five minutes, landing some hard low kicks and nice punches.
However, Justin Willis would turn the tide in round two, showcasing a lightning quick left jab that left Hunt frustrated.
Things did not get any better for Mark Hunt in round three, as Willis continued to pepper him with jabs.
In what serves as the final fight of his UFC career, Mark Hunt ultimately suffered a unanimous decision loss (29-28 x3) to Justin Willis at UFC Adelaide.

That was not the (possibly) final UFC appearance by Hunt anyone was hoping for… #ufcadelaide pic.twitter.com/XJGFCwTPFq

IMO Hunt deserved a better fight for his retirement fight than someone just moving away from him and jabbing him. #UFCAdalaide
