Frankie Edgar issues statement after being forced out of UFC Denver fight with KZ
Former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar was expected to face fan favorite Chan Sung Jung in the headliner of the UFC’s 25th Anniversary show next month in Denver.
Unfortunately for fight fans, a showdown between “The Answer” and “The Korean Zombie” will have to wait, as Edgar was forced to withdraw from the November 10 fight card with a torn bicep.
Frankie Edgar recently took to Twitter where he thanked his fans for their well wishes and added that he will see everyone in the new year.
Thank you all for the well wishes and support, to say I'm disappointed would be an understatement. I train accordingly and was ready for a battle with KZ. Respect to Yair and Zombie that should be a fun scrap. See you all early next year!

As mentioned in Frankie’s tweet, the UFC was quick to find a replacement for “The Answer“.
Shortly after news broke that Frankie Edgar had been pulled from the card, perennial featherweight contender Yair Rodriguez was named as his replacement.
“El Pantera” has not competed inside the octagon since May of 2011, where he suffered his second career defeat at the hands and elbows of the aforementioned Frankie Edgar at UFC 211.
Meanwhile, Chan Sung Jung (The Korean Zombie) will be fighting for the first time since February of 2017, where he defeated Dennis Bermudez with a stunning first-round knockout. Jung has won four of his past five contests overall.
As for the former UFC lightweight champion, Frankie Edgar, the New Jersey native has won three of his past four fights. The 37-year-old is coming off a decisive victory in his rematch with Cub Swanson which occured this past April in Atlantic City.
