Gina Carano ‘had a feeling’ former foe Cris Cyborg would lose at UFC 232
Last night, in the co-main event of UFC 232, UFC women’s bantamweight champion Amanda Nunes added a second title to her mantle with an unbelievable knockout victory over the seemingly unbeatable featherweight champion Cris Cyborg.
While this jaw-dropping upset shocked most members of the MMA community, one former Cyborg opponent claims to have seen it coming: Gina Carano.
Speaking on Twitter after UFC 232 wrapped up, the former Strikeforce champion and WMMA trailblazer Gina Carano said that she “had a feeling” that the card would spell the end of the unbeaten streak of Cris Cyborg.

“I had a feeling that was going to happen,” Gina Carano said of the Cris Cyborg vs. Amanda Nunes fight at UFC 232. “Congrats to Nunes.”
Gina Carano and Cris Cyborg fought under the Strikeforce banner in 2009. On that night, Carano was handed her first professional defeat, as she wilted under a storm of Cyborg punches. She never fought again.
Since then, Carano has kept busy with a burgeoning acting career. She’s even starring in a new Star Wars television series. Cyborg, meanwhile, embarked on an unprecedented win-streak, mauling all those in her path until she crossed paths with Amanda Nunes at UFC 232.
Did you think we’d see Amanda Nunes and the win-streak of Cris Cyborg at UFC 232?
