UFC women’s bantamweight star Holly Holm released a statement following her unanimous decision win over Raquel Pennington at UFC 246.

Holm was able to pin Pennington against the fence and control her while also outstriking her opponent during their standup exchanges to pick up a clear-cut decision win. Holm previously defeated Pennington via split decision in her UFC debut back at UFC 184 in February 2015.

Following UFC 246, Holm took to her social media to release a statement to her fans. Here’s what the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion wrote on her Instagram.

“Leaving Vegas with a win and feeling good. Still working on being better and better. Thank you to my team and all the love and support from everyone. You all know who you are. I hold you all close to my heart. Team @jacksonwink_mma”

Holm badly needed to get her hand raised considering she was knocked out by Amanda Nunes in her last fight at UFC 239. Since beating Ronda Rousey to win the UFC women’s bantamweight title in a huge upset back at UFC 193 in November 2015 to improved her record to 10-0, Holm has struggled with a 3-5 record since then. However, considering how few contenders there are at women’s 135lbs, Holm is still one of the highest-ranked fighters in the division.

Having said that, the fight with Pennington wasn’t exciting and it likely won’t lead to Holm getting a title shot anytime soon. Instead, it seems like that she will have to get at least one more win before a rematch with Nunes could be considered. A matchup pitting Holm against Irene Aldana, who knocked out top prospect Ketlen Vieira at UFC 245 last month, seems like a fight that could make a lot of sense for the division next.
