Israel Adesanya revisits his knockout win over Alex Pereira at UFC 287: “Guess what I said there? ‘I’m going to knock you the f**k out’”
Israel Adesanya has revisited his knockout win over Alex Pereira at UFC 287.
UFC 287 took place on April 8, 2023, at the Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. The main event featured a middleweight title fight between Israel Adesanya (24-2 MMA) and Alex Pereira (7-2 MMA). The outcome was ‘The Last Stylebender’ defeating ‘Poutan’ with a sensational KO victory at 4:21 of round 2.
It was sweet revenge for Adesanya, 33, who reclaimed the belt after losing it to Pereira just last November at UFC 281.
Taking to ‘Twitter‘, Adesanya posted a YouTube video of himself revisiting his knockout victory:

“I’m glad it was him (Pereira). I’m glad this whole thing happened with him. He looks the part too – like a f**king Titan. Slay the f**king dragons on him.”
Continuing the champion said:
“He wanted to touch gloves. I felt it. He wanted to touch. If I put my hand out, he would have touched gloves. He was waiting for me.”
Concluding, Adesanya shared what he said to Pereira:
“I was leading the dance from the get go. Guess what I said there – ‘I’m going to knock you the f**k out, I’m going to knock you the f**k out. My teeth didn’t separate.”
And true to his word, Adesanya did achieve that knockout win.
As for what is next for the champion, when speaking at the UFC 287 post fight press conference and asked about a trilogy match between the two, he stated:
“I don’t keep score, I settle them, and now it’s settled. Now he’s (Pereira) got to do the hard yards if he wants to do that (the trilogy fight), but I don’t think he will.”
