Jon Jones reacts to estimated UFC 232 PPV buys and then proceeds to delete post
Jon Jones captured the promotions vacant light heavyweight title at UFC 232, defeating Alexander Gustafsson via third-round knockout in Los Angeles.
The victory improved Jon Jones overall record to a sensational 23-1, with his lone career setback coming via disqualification – this after he landed illegal elbows on Matt Hamill at the TUF 10 Finale event in 2009.
After his first fight with “The Mauler” at UFC 165 produced a “Fight of the year” war, many fans and analysts believed that their rematch would be highly competitive.
However, that did not turn out to be the case at UFC 232. Jon Jones seemingly had his way with the powerful Swede before ending the fight in the third-round with some brutal ground and pound strikes.
Most recently it was announced that Jon Jones UFC 232 drug tests with the California State Athletic Commission had come back clean.
If that wasn’t reason enough to celebrate, news broke earlier today that the December 29 pay-per-view event has done an estimated 700,000 buys.
If those estimations prove true, then UFC 232 will be the second highest pay-per-view event of the 2018 year, trailing only UFC 229 which was headlined by Conor McGregor vs. Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Following the news of UFC 232’s reported success, Jon Jones took to his official Instagram with the following reaction.
“Love me, hate me. As long as the people care I’m good.” – Jon Jones
Jones would later delete the social media post, but not before it was seen by many members of the MMA Community.
“Bones” is already slated to return to the octagon at March’s UFC 235 event in Las Vegas where he will take on surging division contender Anthony Smith.
