Jon Jones responds to Kevin Lee’s fight challenge
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones recently commented on an Instagram photo from Kevin Lee, criticizing the lightweight contender’s fashion choices.
“I swear my daughter has that same jacket,” Jones wrote on one of Lee’s Instagram posts.
Shortly after Jon Jones made his comment, Kevin Lee responded in ballsy style, challenging the light heavyweight champ to a fight — even though he knows the risk of a loss would be high.
“Make no mistake, I’m not afraid of shit. Even if imma take a L, i can’t let disrespect slide without retaliation,” Lee wrote in response to this comment from Jones. “We can throw knuckles too, Jon.
Sincerely, Mr. I don’t give a f**k”.
Now, Jon Jones has responded. Speaking on Twitter, he clapped back at Kevin Lee with a comment that oozed sarcasm.
“Yo don’t beat me up bro, I’m sorry,” Jones wrote. “My daughter really does have that jacket though.”
Kevin Lee last fought in December, when he lost a decision to Al Iaquinta in a fairly significant upset. Prior to loss, Kevin Lee defeated Edson Barboza by stoppage, and lost to Tony Ferguson by submission in an interim lightweight title fight.
Jon Jones, meanwhile, recently returned to action after a lengthy United States Anti-Doping Agency sanction, defeating his rival Alexander Gustafsson by third-round TKO to reclaim the UFC light heavyweight title, which was recently vacated by Daniel Cormier. He’s now expected to fight Anthony Smith at UFC 235.
