Luke Rockhold is not impressed by Thiago Santos
Thiago Santos (21-6 MMA) picked up the sixteenth stoppage victory of his career tonight in Prague, but that wasn’t enough to impress Luke Rockhold.
The former UFC middleweight champion, Rockhold, took to Twitter shortly following Santos’ third round TKO victory over Jan Blachowicz with the following message.
“Sloppy Santos. Ha easy money.” – Luke Rockhold
Santos defeated Blachowicz in tonight’s main event after catching Jan with a big punch during the third round of their main event fight. That strike ultimately sent the 35-year-old Polish native crashing to the octagon canvas.
From there, Santos would follow up with some crushing hammer fists which forced the referee to mercifully step in and call a stop to the action.
The win served as Thiago Santos fourth in a row, and third straight knockout. “Marreta” has now won 9 of his past 10 fights overall.
Despite the Brazilian’s recent success, Luke Rockhold believes that the surging light heavyweight contender is a “sloppy” fighter.
Rockhold obviously feels he matches up well with “Marreta“, however it seems unlikely that anything less than a title shot or number one contenders bout will be next for Santos at this point.
Luke Rockhold has not stepped foot inside the octagon since suffering a knockout loss to Yoel Romero at UFC 221 in February of 2018.
