Marlon Moraes promises knockout of Henry Cejudo

At UFC 238 on June 8, former World Series of Fighting (WSOF) champ Marlon Moraes will battle reigning UFC flyweight champ Henry Cejudo for the bantamweight title, which was recently left vacant when the former champion TJ Dillashaw tested positive for EPO.

At the recent UFC Seasonal Press Conference, which went down in Atlanta Georgia ahead of UFC 236, Marlon Moraes found himself on the receiving end of some of Cejudo’s trash talk. One of the more notable moments occurred when Cejudo said Moraes “looks like Mr. Clean and talks like Michael Jackson” (via MMA Junkie).

While Henry Cejudo was willing to let the trash talk fly on stage at this press conference, Marlon Moraes seems content to make his statements in the Octagon on June 8.

Speaking at the press conference, the streaking Brazilian contender promised to silence “The Messenger” with another highlight reel knockout.

“I’m going to silence ‘The Messenger,’ my friend,” Moraes said confidently. “No more gold medal, no more fight with the belt. That’s it. I’m going to knock you out.”

Needless to say, the former World Series of Fighting champion is ready to add a UFC belt to his collection.

“I’m ready and it’s the biggest fight of my life,” Moraes said of this UFC 238 matchup. “It’s time to become a champion.”
