Max Holloway teams up with Jameson Whiskey, seemingly takes shot at Conor McGregor

By Chris Taylor - January 26, 2019

UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway does not seem to agree with Conor McGregor that ‘Proper Twelve’ is Ireland’s best whiskey.

Max Holloway, UFC 231

‘Blessed’ recently took to Twitter where he shared the following post proclaiming ‘Jameson Whiskey’ to be a “true pillar of Ireland”.

“238 years of innovation, hard work, and unmatched quality. Not a watered down trend. A true pillar of Ireland, supporting the hard working families in Dublin for generations. Thank you @jamesonwhiskey for the hospitality. The number one Irish whiskey in the world #sinemetu – Max Holloway

Holloway’s post appears to be a clear shot at former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor.

McGregor introduced his ‘Proper Twelve‘ Irish whiskey to the world in 2018, but apparently Max is not buying his brand.

Max Holloway and Conor McGregor have a history, having competed inside the octagon back in August of 2013. “Mystic Mac” earned a decision win over the Hawaiian that night in Boston.

Since then Max Holloway has strung together thirteen-straight wins, capturing the UFC’s coveted featherweight title in the process.

In his most recent octagon appearance at UFC 231, Max Holloway butchered Brian Ortega with punches on route to a fourth-round TKO victory.

Meanwhile, Conor McGregor was last seen in action at October’s UFC 229 event, where he suffered a fourth-round submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in his attempt to reclaim the UFC lightweight title.
