Mike Perry goes off on ‘fat bastards’, explains that cutting weight makes you stronger
UFC welterweight standout Mike Perry (13-4 MMA) is sick of having ‘a bunch of fat bastards’ lecture him about weight cutting.
“Platinum” recently took to Twitter where he went off on the subject, this while explaining that athletes would not fight as good or be as strong without weight cutting.
The last thing fighters need is a bunch of fat bastards talking about our weight cut. Fighting has always been this way. Cutting weight makes you stronger. It is not why fighters get KO’d. If we didn’t cut weight we wouldn’t fight as good. Stick to watching us fight…

“The last thing fighters need is a bunch of fat bastards talking about our weight cut. Fighting has always been this way. Cutting weight makes you stronger. It is not why fighters get KO’d. If we didn’t cut weight we wouldn’t fight as good. Stick to watching us fight…” – Mike Perry
The 27-year-old, Perry, was most recently seen in action at April’s UFC event in Florida, where he picked up a unanimous decision victory over Alex Oliveira.
Mike Perry has accumulated a record of 6-4 after ten fights under the UFC banner. During that time he has scored victories over Hyun Gyu Lim, Danny Roberts, Jake Ellenberger, Alex Reyes, Paul Felder and the aforementioned ‘Cowboy’ Oliveira.
While nothing has been made official, it is expected that Perry’s next fight may come against former division title challenger Darren Till.
The Liverpool native, Till, is coming off back to back losses to Tyron Woodley and Jorge Masvidal in his most recent octagon appearances, but is still considered to be one of the top fighters at 170-pounds (welterweight).
Do you think we will see a fight between Darren Till and Mike Perry booked next by the promotion?
