Nick Diaz blasts Conor McGregor for Mark Wahlberg callout

By Tom Taylor - June 11, 2019

Over the weekend, former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor made yet another call for a fight with Hollywood actor and UFC shareholder Mark Wahlberg.

Nick Diaz, Tyron Woodley

“I challenge Mark Walhberg on the very same card. Back when mark wahlberg was marky mark, I’d’ve still slapped the ears off him and took my ufc shares back. #Shares #Streams #Dazn #Espn McGregor Sports and Entertainment” – Conor McGregor on Twitter

McGregor’s frequent callouts of the actor have even led oddsmakers to release betting odds for the fight.

In the opinion of Nick Diaz, however, Conor McGregor is way off base calling out a person with no actual martial arts training.

The elder Diaz brother took a shot at McGregor in his Instagram story on Monday.

“Why would you wanna fight someone who can’t fight,” the former Strikeforce champion wrote (via Bloody Elbow). “What a piece off shit! Same as beating someone with handcuffs on.”

Conor McGregor, of course, has plenty of history with the Diaz family, having fought Nick’s younger brother Nate on two occasions. The first time McGregor fought the younger Diaz bro, he was defeated by submission. The second time around, he won by majority decision.

Nate Diaz has not fought since his loss to McGregor — although he is now scheduled to return to the Octagon for a welterweight bout with Anthony Pettis at UFC 242 in August. Nick Diaz, on the other hand, has been out of action even longer, having not fought since an early 2015 no contest against Anderson Silva.

While the older Diaz brother has a knack for keeping himself in the MMA headlines, it seems that his fighting days are done for good.

What do you think of this comment from Nick Diaz? Should Conor McGregor stick to calling out his fellow fighters rather than Hollywood actors?
