In January of 2015, MMA legends Anderson Silva and Nick Diaz stepped into the cage together for a matchup that had fight fans drooling in anticipation. After five wild, rounds, Silva was announced the winner of this fight by unanimous decision. Unfortunately, that result was eventually overturned when Silva tested positive for Drostanolone and Diaz tested positive for marijuana metabolites. Four years later, Anderson Silva says he’s still interested in a do-over with Nick Diaz — but not for the UFC’s benefit. The former middleweight champion feels the UFC has a habit of using aging stars to promote young prospects, and he doesn’t want a potential rematch with Diaz to serve that purpose.

The beef between Conor McGregor and Paulie Malignaggi is alive and well. Over the last few days, the pair have exchanged virulent trash talk in interviews and on social media, and talk of a potential fight between them is once again rampant. Speaking on Off The Ball, Malignaggi upped the ante, challenging McGregor to a winner-takes-all fight in the boxing ring.

And now, another premier player in the UFC lightweight division has joined the fracas: Nate Diaz. Nate Diaz took a shot at Khabib Nurmagomedov after Nurmagomedov went after Conor McGregor on Twitter.

In September 2013, Alexander Gustafsson and Jon Jones fought to a narrow decision, with the latter walking away the victor. In December of 2018, in the main event of UFC 229, the pair met again. In this second meeting, Jones won once more, this time by third-round TKO. Despite these setbacks, Alexander Gustafsson and his team are still very confident he can beat the seemingly unbeatable Jon Jones.

UFC bantamweight standout John Lineker has issued a statement after an injury forced him out of his slated bout with Cory Sandhagen at next weekend’s UFC on ESPN+1 event. The injury, which still remains unknown to media at this time, forced “Hands of Stone” to pull out on just nine days notice. Thankfully for Cody Sandhagen, undefeated promotional newcomer Mario Bautista has agreed to fill in for Lineker at Saturday’s event in Brooklyn.
