Leading up to the event, Rousey caused quite a stir when a preview for the episode showed Rousey wearing a fancy ring on ‘that finger’ leading many to wonder whether or not Rousey and UFC heavyweight Travis Browne were engaged.

The New York vs. MMA saga continued today after New York District Court Judge Kimba Wood shot down the UFC’s preliminary injunction to bypass the New York MMA ban and hold Jones vs. Cormier II at the Madison Square Garden. UFC COO Lawrence Epstein released a statement on the matter, which was obtained by MMAMania.

It has been a couple of crazy days for the UFC heavyweight division. On Sunday, UFC President Dana White announced that Cain Velasquez was forced out of his UFC 196 title fight with heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum due to an injury. Top contender Stipe Miocic was set to fill in for Velasquez for his chance at the title.

With Stipe Miocic looking like a hero for stepping up in such short notice, sources reveal that the fight in fact will not go down between Miocic and Werdum. Cain Velasquez had to call off the fight due to injury leaving Werdum less than two weeks to prepare for a different fight. Werdum reserved the right not to fight due to his own injuries that he would of had to fight through had not Velasquez stepped down from the title fight.

Ronda Rousey isn’t the only one getting recognized in Venice, California in works of art. The UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor also has some adoring fans in the street art community who painted a mural of “The Notorious” out on a street in Venice. It isn’t as big of a piece as Ronda Rousey’s mural who lives in the city as the hometown hero, but for the Irishman’s fame, it is a step in the right direction.

UFC senior vice president Giovani Decker released news of an exciting welterweight match between two of the division’s top competitors. Matt Brown and Demian Maia are set to fight in Brazil at the UFC Fight Night event on May 14. Also scheduled on the Fight Night event in Brazil is a bout between two of the top middleweights. Jacare Souza and Vitor Belfort will meet in the Octagon with a winner getting a step closer to a title fight.

UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor is going up a weight class to challenge Rafael dos Anjos for the lightweight championship belt at UFC 197 on March 5. This will mark the vocal 145-pound champion’s first fight at 155 pounds in the UFC and is looking like he is putting on the weight well. McGregor posted this photo to his Instagram account. It looks like it is a promotional shoot for UFC 197 with McGregor looking noticeably more muscular.

While still being at the top of his game, “The Natural Born Killer” wants to ensure that he will be healthy after his career is long over. The former UFC featherweight champion who was the only man to hold the title since the division’s birth before losing it to Conor McGregor in December just wants to get his belt back. With McGregor scheduled to fight for the lightweight title on March 5 against Rafael dos Anjos, “The Notorious” is still holding on to the featherweight title.

The UFC star made her first video appearance in a production since losing her championship title to Holly Holm at UFC 193 back in November. Rousey has taken time off from fighting to expand on her career with filming two new movies. The former UFC champion and Olympic medalist has already appeared in a few major motion pictures and it looks like her career in the movie industry isn’t slowing down.
