The fight will be remembered for Silva’s ability to slice the eyebrow of Dober, causing a deep gash which led to the fight being stopped.

Namajunas and Cortez went toe-to-toe in the main event of UFC Denver this past Saturday night. “Thug” Rose clipped and dropped Cortez early in the fight. It was clear that Namajunas was outgunning Cortez on the feet and even utilized some wrestling of her own to show she is simply more well-rounded.

The highly anticipated women’s flyweight main event resulted in a dominant performance from Rose Namajunas. While Tracy Cortez showed a ton of heart and resilience, she was no match for the former strawweight champion. ‘Thug’ scored a knockdown in the opening frame and was able to get dominant positions on the ground in the latter rounds, seemingly cruising to a unanimous decision victory.

Cortez stepped up on short notice to face Rose Namajunas, but on Friday, she originally tipped the scales at 126.5lbs, just 0.5lbs over the 126lbs limit. She had an additional hour to try and make weight, but Cortez decided the easier way was to cut her hair, and she told her manager Tiki Ghosn to cut her hair.

With Dricus Du Plessis set to put the 185-pound gold on the line against Israel Adesanya at UFC 305, many have called for a title eliminator between Strickland and Robert Whittaker.
