After controversial loss at UFC Denver, Chas Skelly only planning to appeal if Bobby Moffett gets to keep win bonus

Drake Riggs - November 12, 2018

UFC Denver provided us with some truly epic moments for the UFC’s 25th-anniversary show. However, it didn’t come without some controversy as well. Aside from some very questionable scorecards early on in the night, we wound up with a potentially unnecessary stoppage involving featherweights Chas Skelly and Bobby Moffett.

Khabib Nurmagomedov goes on charity mission in Nigeria

Drake Riggs - November 12, 2018

UFC lightweight champion of the world, Khabib Nurmagomedov is a man on a mission. But this time, that mission has nothing to do with cage fighting. Life after the biggest win of his career at UFC 229 hasn’t seemed to have been all too bad for the undefeated champion despite the controversies that immediately followed.

Henry Cejudo says he could leave UFC if promotion drops flyweight division

Tom Taylor - November 12, 2018

On January 26, in the main event of UFC 233, UFC flyweight champion Henry Cejudo is expected to defend his title against slimmed down bantamweight champ TJ Dillashaw. This bout carries some massive implications, as the UFC is reportedly planning on shutting down its flyweight division in the near future. While Henry Cejudo is currently focused on his UFC 233 fight with TJ Dillashaw, he believes that, win or lose, his time with the UFC could come to an end if the promotion drops the flyweight division thereafter.

Jose Torres says Dana White has 'never, ever' been a fan of UFC flyweight division

Tom Taylor - November 12, 2018

Although the UFC recently booked a flyweight title fight between divisional champ Henry Cejudo and slimmed-down bantamweight champion TJ Dillashaw, the expectation is still that the promotion will close down its flyweight division in the near future. UFC President Dana White has sidestepped questions on this topic, but the promotion has already ejected many flyweight fighters from its roster. One of these ostracized flyweights is Jose Torres. Speaking to BloodyElbow this week, Jose Torres weighed in on the possible closure of the UFC flyweight division. In his eyes, any failures the flyweight division has had in attracting fans is really the fault of the UFC.

Mike Perry thanks "Cowboy" for learning experience, aims to get BJJ blackbelt

Tom Taylor - November 12, 2018

“Platinum” Mike Perry’s long awaited scrap with Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone didn’t go quite the way he planned. Instead, after grounding the fight in the first frame, Perry was forced to tap out to a Cowboy armbar. While this is of course not the outcome Mike Perry was hoping for, he seems to be treating it as a learning experience. In the day since the fight, the fan favorite welterweight has been busily assessing the setback on his social media channels.

UFC Argentina's Cynthia Calvillo says NSAC, not USADA gave her the biggest issues with her suspension

James Lynch - November 12, 2018

Cynthia Calvillo steps into the cage for the first time since Dec. 2017 when she faces Poliana Botelho this Saturday at UFC Argentina. The 31-year-old has been sidelined due to a suspension for a failed drug test for marijuana use. In a recent interview with Fightful, Cynthia Calvillo said that the Nevada State Athletic Commission, not the United States Anti-Doping Agency, gave her the biggest headache through the whole process.

EXCLUSIVE | Maurice Greene: 'TUF house made me that much better' as a fighter

Cole Shelton - November 11, 2018

Currently, The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) is in season 28, where heavyweights and women featherweights are competing. The coaches for the season are Kelvin Gastelum and Robert Whittaker. However, one of the more popular people on the show isn’t a coach, rather a competitor, in Maurice Greene. Greene had an unconventional path to MMA. He used to be over 300 pounds and never trained a day of MMA in his life until he decided he wanted to. Since then, Greene lost a lot of weight, and quit his full-time job in hopes of fighting for the UFC. Well, he appears to be close after getting a call to go on TUF.

"The Korean Zombie" Chan Sung Jung breaks silence after wild KO loss to Yair Rodriguez

Tom Taylor - November 11, 2018

On Saturday night, in the main event of the UFC’s 25th anniversary show in Denver, Colorado, fan favorite Korean fighter Chan Sung Jung — better known as The Korean Zombie — stepped into the Octagon for the first time since February of 2017. Unfortunately for the Korean star and his legions of fans, this return to action did not go as planned. Instead, he was turned off by a blistering, upswinging elbow from his opponent in the very last second of their epic five-round war. Given that The Korean Zombie was decisively ahead on the scorecards, and a literal second away from what likely would have been a nice, unanimous decision victory, this loss is bound to have stung. That being said, he seems to be in reasonably good spirits nonetheless.

Rose Namajunas confident her next fight will be against Jessica Andrade

Current UFC strawweight champion Rose Namajunas should be back soon. Namajunas hasn’t fought since UFC 223 when she defeated Joanna Jedrzejczyk for the second time in a row. That fight week was tough for her, as Conor McGregor threw a dolly at the bus she was on and shook her up. Since the fight, Namajunas has been rehabbing an injury and trying to get over the bus attack.
