The Octagon returns to France for today’s UFC Paris event, an eleven-bout fight card headlined by Ciryl Gane vs. Serghei Spivac. Gane (11-2 MMA) will be returning to action for the first time since suffering a first-round submission loss to Jon Jones in a fight for the vacant heavyweight title at UFC 285. Prior to that setback, ‘Bon Gamin’ was coming off a third-round knockout win over Tai Tuivasa in September of 2022.

Jorge Masvidal is open to returning to the UFC as long as he can face Justin Gaethje for the BMF belt. In the main event of UFC 291, Gaethje became the new BMF champion as he scored a second-round head kick KO win over Dustin Poirier. Masvidal was at the event and wrapped the belt around Gaethje, given he was the inaugural BMF champion.

It was on Saturday, August 19th at UFC 292 that bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling (23-4 MMA) took on Sean O’Malley (17-1 MMA) in the main even at the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts. The outcome was a second-round TKO victory for the 28-year-old O’Malley, who in the process stripped ‘Funk Master’ of the crown, becoming the new champion.

The rivalry between the two middleweights intensified when Du Plessis made claims to take the title back to Africa as ‘the African fighter in the UFC’ as he still lives and trains there, whereas Adesanya while born in Nigeria, currently resides in New Zealand. Du Plessis’s words and claims put him at the top of Adesanya’s hit list.

Former UFC fighter Darren Till has opted to plead guilty to driving without insurance and driving while disqualified, as reported by Liverpool Echo. Earlier this year, Darren Till left the Ultimate Fighting Championship. While he hasn’t competed since, many are still keeping one eye on the Liverpudlian to see what could be next for him. Some believe it’ll be a UFC title, whereas others aren’t sure if he’ll ever fight again. Either way, he has a large fanbase, and that’ll continue to be the case for a long time to come.
