Aspinall is set to headline UFC London on Saturday against Marcin Tybura a year after he headlined a previous card against Curtis Blaydes and tore his knee just seconds into the fight. It was a heartbreaking result for Aspinall as he felt embarrassed by having to get carried out of the O2, and how he fought before he hurt his knee.

Former UFC lightweight title challenger Kevin Lee has reflected on his 2020 loss to Charles Oliveira. ‘The Motown Phenom’ announced his retirement following a loss to Rinat Fakhretdinov earlier this month. That was Kevin Lee’s first fight back with the company after a 2021 release, and it’ll be his final. Following the first-round submission defeat, the lightweight contender announced his retirement.

That was the Scouser’s fourth in the UFC, but it came at a cost. Many felt that ‘Flash’ deserved the nod at UFC 282. Furthermore, Paddy Pimblett suffered an ankle injury, resulting in a long layoff.

Islam Makhachev is hoping to fight Leon Edwards next time out. Makhachev is the UFC’s reigning lightweight champ and is coming off a decision win over Alexander Volkanovski back in February. Since then, he has been campaigning to get a fight but nothing has come to fruition. As well, with Charles Oliveira saying he won’t be ready in October, there is no clear-cut next contender for Makhachev to defend his belt against. With that, Makhachev is looking to fight for the UFC’s welterweight title in October in Abu Dhabi.

Jai Herbert will be fighting in London for the fourth straight time. Herbert will be taking on Fares Ziam at UFC London on Saturday and is coming off a draw against L’udovit Klein back in March. Prior to that, he beat Kyle Nelson in July and lost to Ilia Topuria by KO the previous March. Although this is Herbert’s fourth straight fight in London, he says he still is excited to fight at home and put on a show for his people.

Nate Diaz is reacting to Jake Paul’s $10 million offer for an MMA fight. Diaz, 38, last fought in the Octagon in September of last year, defeating Tony Ferguson (25-8 MMA) via guillotine choke at 2:52 of round 4. It was to be Diaz’s final fight of his UFC contract.

Kevin Lee has no regrets from his UFC career but does wish a specific fight had gone his way. Lee fought 19 times in the UFC going 11-8 and even fought for the interim lightweight title. However, Lee lost that fight by submission to Tony Ferguson. Although Kevin Lee lost two fights to Al Iaquinta who was his rival, he wishes the Ferguson fight played out much differently.

Former UFC light-heavyweight champion Rampage Jackson doesn’t care much about the Hall of Fame. The former champion has been out of action since a December 2019 clash with Fedor Emelianenko. ‘The Last Emperor’ wound up scoring a knockout win over Rampage Jackson that night, finishing him in the first. That fight was the last bout on the latter’s contract, and he became a free agent after the Bellator 237 defeat.
