At UFC 280, Makhachev opened as a -300 betting favorite and closed around -245 in a fight he ended up winning by second-round submission. Since then, Makhchev beat Alexander Volkanovski to defend his belt while Oliveira returned to the win column at UFC 289 with a first-round TKO win over Beneil Dariush.

Miranda Maverick is revealing she went ‘completely blind’ during third-round of Jasmine Jasudavicius fight at UFC 289. It was just this past Saturday, June 10th, that saw Miranda ‘Fear The’ Maverick (11-5 MMA) get in the cage with Jasmine Jasudavicius (9-2 MMA) in a flyweight bout. The ultimate result was a unanimous decision win for the 34-year-old Jasudavicius.

Charles Oliveira laid claim to two new Ultimate Fighting Championship records at UFC 289. This past Saturday, June 10th, saw Charles Oliveira (34-9 MMA) vs Beneil Dariush (22-5 MMA) in the lightweight co-main event. It was Oliveira who would prove victorious by way of TKO at 4:10 of Round 1 (see that here).

Irene Aldana has issued a statement following her championship loss to Amanda Nunes at UFC 289 last weekend. In the main event of UFC 289, Irene Aldana failed to capture the UFC bantamweight title. She went up against Amanda Nunes, the woman many considered to be the GOAT. Outside of clipping Nunes on the counter in the first round, Aldana didn’t really do a whole lot of note throughout the course of the contest.

Beneil Dariush was on the wrong end of a TKO finish at UFC 289, and he’s spoken out about it. Dariush shared the Octagon with former UFC Lightweight Champion Charles Oliveira on June 10. The bout served as the co-main event for UFC 289. This one ended in the opening frame as Oliveira had his opponent on wobbly legs after a barrage of strikes on the feet. Eventually, “do Bronx” dropped Dariush and finished him on the ground for the first-round TKO win.

Amanda Nunes has a rough message for those looking to take the vacant UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship. Nunes was in action for the final time inside the Octagon at UFC 289 this past Saturday (June 10). She put the 135-pound gold on the line against Irene Aldana. The action emanated from Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Raquel Pennington sees a path to the UFC title following Amanda Nunes’ retirement, and she even has a dance partner in mind. Pennington was in attendance for UFC 289, which featured a UFC women’s bantamweight title fight between Nunes and Irene Aldana. In fact, Pennington actually weighed in a day before the fight because she was the emergency backup fighter. Pennington witnessed ‘The Lioness” dominate Aldana for five rounds en route to a unanimous decision victory. After the fight, Nunes announced her retirement from pro MMA competition.

The Octagon returned to Canada for tonight’s UFC 289 event, an eleven-bout fight card headlined by Amanda Nunes vs. Irene Aldana. The highly anticipated women’s bantamweight title fight proved to be a one-sided affair. Amanda Nunes dominated Irene Aldana for all five rounds, battering the challenger with jabs and ground and pound. After twenty-five minutes of GOAT work, ‘The Lioness’ was awarded the unanimous decision victory. Following the win, Nunes shocked fans and fellow fighters by announcing her retirement from MMA.

It was a chance for Pineda to enter the ranks, but in the end, it was Caceres who won by decision.
