Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn explained why Billy Joe Saunders did not get off the stool for round nine vs. Canelo Alvarez on Saturday night. Saunders took on Alvarez on Saturday night in a massive boxing event at AT&T Stadium in Dallas, Texas. The fight was fairly competitive throughout, but Alvarez was slightly up on points at the end of the eighth round. After the round break was over, Saunders chose to not get off the stool and the fight was called. According to Hearn, Saunders broke his orbital bone and his team made the decision not to let him go back out for round nine.

UFC women’s strawweight Marina Rodriguez issued a statement following her unanimous decision victory over Michelle Waterson at UFC Vegas 26. Rodriguez put forth an exceptional performance in the main event of UFC Vegas 26 on Saturday night as she outpointed Waterson for five rounds to take home a unanimous decision victory. Rodriguez showed off her world-class Muay Thai skills as she was also able to go a full, hard 25 minutes for the first time in her UFC career. Overall, it was a fantastic showing by Rodriguez, and even though the fight took place up a weight class at 125lbs, it was still a big win that should help her move up the women’s strawweight rankings, too.

UFC lightweight title challenger Michael Chandler reacted after Nate Diaz vs. Leon Edwards was pulled from next weekend’s UFC 262 PPV event. Chandler headlines next Saturday’s card against Charles Oliveira, with the winner taking home the vacant UFC lightweight title. The original co-main event was set to be Diaz against Edwards in a five-round welterweight bout, but that fight was postponed after Diaz suffered a minor injury in training. Speaking to Farah Hannoun of MMAjunkie.com, Chandler reacted to the news that Diaz vs. Edwards will not take place at UFC 262.

Geoff Neal explained why he will “probably” take some time away following his loss to Neil Magny, saying that “my body hasn’t been right.” It wasn’t that long ago that Neal was someone who fans and analysts were pointing to as a potential future title contender at 170lbs, but he has really struggled in his last two fights, dropping decisions to Stephen Thompson and now Magny, who beat him on Saturday night at UFC Vegas 26. In addition to struggling inside the cage, Neal has also dealt with health issues outside of it. It has made the last year of his career extremely difficult from a personal point of view, and now from a professional point of view as well with the losses.

Donald Cerrone was hoping to earn his first win since May of 2019 when he squared off with Alex Morono in a welterweight contest at UFC Vegas 26. Morono (19-7 MMA) had taken the fight on short-notice, this after Cerrone’s originally scheduled opponent Diego Sanchez was handed his walking papers from the promotion just weeks prior to the event.

Yesterday evening a video surfaced online showing Fabia and Sanchez engaging in some very strange training practices (see that here). Conor McGregor decided to send Diego Sanchez a message after witnessing bizarre footage of the former TUF 1 winner training with Joshua Fabia. Early this evening a video surfaced online showing Fabia and Sanchez engaging in some very strange training practices (see that here). The wild footage quickly went viral and eventually made it’s way past former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor.

A new video has surfaced of former UFC welterweight Diego Sanchez being involved in some bizarre training methods with his coach Joshua Fabia. In the video, you can see Fabia doing all sorts of different training methods with Sanchez, including having Sanchez hang upside down while Fabia does some striking drills on him. There is also a portion of the video where Sanchez is shown with a blindfold over his eyes while Fabia chases him around the ring. Joshua Fabia, the coach of Diego Sanchez, has made some serious allegations against Dana White and Sean Shelby. Over the past couple of weeks, Sanchez and Fabia have been going at White and the UFC. Sanchez was then released by the promotion and White said it was due to Fabia being crazy.
UFC Vegas 26 weigh-in results: Headliners on point, but two fights scrapped

The official weigh-ins for UFC Vegas 26 took place on Friday in Las Vegas and we saw several weight misses and fights get canceled. The headliners for this card, Marina Rodriguez and Michelle Waterson, both made weight, with each fighter coming in under the 126lbs non-title limit for the five-round main event. While the main event is official, however, there were a number of other bouts that were affected by weight misses on the card, with two fights needing to get scratched.

The UFC has removed six more fighters from its roster including bantamweight Luke Sanders, who just fought at last weekend’s event. TSN’s Aaron Bronsteter reported that the following six athletes have been removed from the UFC roster: Sanders, fellow bantamweight Anthony Birchak, featherweight Jordan Griffin, lightweight Aalon Cruz, and middleweights Bartosz Fabinski and KB Bhullar.
