Ali Abdelaziz is still hoping his client Cody Garbrandt can skip the line at flyweight, but if not a fight with MMA legend Jose Aldo will do. The UFC’s former bantamweight champion, Garbrandt (12-3 MMA), was slated to challenge Deiveson Figueiredo for the promotions flyweight title back at UFC 255 in November. Unfortunately for ‘No Love, he was forced to withdraw from the contest due to a bicep injury.

The pro wrestling community suffered another tragic blow this evening as it was reported that Jon Huber has passed away. The former WWE Intercontinental champion, Huber, was best known for his roles as Luke Harper and Brodie Lee. According to a statement issued by his family, Jon had passed away following a non-Covid related lung issue. He was only 41 years old.

Khamzat Chimaev has vowed to smash Conor McGregor after the Irishman took aim at his “big brother” on Christmas evening. After announcing that he is expecting his third child with Dee Devlin on Christmas morning, McGregor later went from cheer to jeer by attacking Ali Abdelaziz on social media.

Conor McGregor played tweet and delete after engaging in a heated Twitter feud with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s manager Ali Abdelaziz. McGregor started his Christmas morning by announcing that he is expecting his third child with his longtime partner Dee Devlin. The Irish couple, who have been together since 2008, have two children together, Conor Jack McGregor, who was born in May 2017, and Croia McGregor, who was born in January 2019.

Conor McGregor announces birth of third child in 2021

UFC superstar Conor McGregor and his fiancée Dee Devlin have announced that their family is expecting to have their third child in 2021. McGregor and Devlin, who have been together since 2008, have two children together, Conor Jack McGregor, who was born in May 2017, and Croia McGregor, who was born in January 2019. On Christmas 2020, McGregor and Devlin made the happy announcement that their family will be adding another child in 2021. UFC women’s featherweight champion Amanda Nunes opened up as a 10-to-1 betting favorite for her upcoming UFC 259 bout against Megan Anderson. Nunes and Anderson were previously scheduled to compete at UFC 256 earlier this month, but the fight was called off after Nunes withdrew due to an injury. The UFC matchmakers were, fortunately, able to re-book the fight in short order. Nunes vs. Anderson will now take place just three months later at UFC 259, which is set for March 9. The main event for that event has not been confirmed yet but all signs are pointing to the headliner being the rematch between UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and Francis Ngannou.

Bellator MMA commentator John McCarthy was not impressed by UFC President Dana White’s recent anti-media video. 2020 has been a very successful year for White and the UFC, contrary to the strains and challenges presented by the pandemic. Chase Hooper pulled off his second career UFC victory at UFC 256. However, it wasn’t the easiest victory he’s picked up in his young career. Kicking off the final UFC pay-per-view event of 2020, the 21-year old featherweight prospect took on Peter Barrett. After dropping the first two rounds on the judges’ scorecards, Hooper headed into the third needing a finish and that’s what he got.
UFC on ABC? First event of 2021 expected to air on network television

Since moving to ESPN from Fox, UFC events have primarily been watchable via the ESPN+ streaming service. That won’t be the case to start in 2021. According to MMA Junkie, the UFC’s January 16 Fight Night event will air on the ABC network instead of any ESPN channels or the ESPN+ streaming service. No reason for why this is happening was given. But speculation has already begun surrounding exactly what the reasons could be.

UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington claims that Jorge Masvidal won’t sign the UFC’s contract to fight him due to a “bad style matchup.” Covington and Masvidal were former teammates and friends at American Top Team, but they are heated rivals these days. With both men gunning for a title shot against UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman, they will likely have to go through one another in order to get another crack at Usman and his belt. There have been whispers that the UFC would like to match up Covington and Masvidal for early 2021 and possibly have them serve as coaches on “The Ultimate Fighter,” but so far, the fight has not been booked.

Christos Giagos thought he wouldn’t get a fight in 2020. Giagos lost a close decision to Drakkar Klose at UFC 241 and since then, he was looking to fight. He was expected to fight in April but due to the pandemic, the event was canceled. Since then, he was bugging his manager for a fight, and out of blue, last Wednesday, he got a fight offer to fight on three days’ notice against Carlton Minus and took it.

Former UFC light heavyweight champ Tito Ortiz, now a city councilman in Huntington Beach, California, was recently involved in a heated confrontation with one of his constituents. It’s not entirely clear what led to this incident, but tempers flared quite quickly. While the Huntington Beach citizen in question was undoubtedly pushing Ortiz’s buttons, the former UFC champ also didn’t respond in the way you’d expect from an elected official.
