On Saturday night, in the main event of UFC 239, UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones defended his title once again with a split decision defeat of Brazilian knockout artist Thiago Santos. Jones’ continued dominance is always impressive, but this victory easily ranks amongst the least impressive of his career. Speaking post fight, Jones opened up on this lackluster performance, admitting that he might have been a bit too relaxed in the cage.

Although he is light on experience in the Octagon, the 12th-ranked light heavyweight has his eyes on Francis Ngannou. The 27-year-old says he wouldn’t rule out a move to heavyweight and is confident he would beat Ngannou.

International Fight Week has come and gone and with it was a stacked UFC 239 card. The card was headlined by Jon Jones looking to defend his light heavyweight title against Thiago Santos. In the co-main event, Amanda Nunes was looking to defend her bantamweight title against Holly Holm. And, in a pivotal welterweight bout, Jorge Masvidal fought Ben Askren. Jones ended up edging out a split-decision win over Santos while Nunes TKO’d Holm in the first round and Masvidal knocked out Askren in five seconds.

Melvin Guillard pleads guilty to knocking out civilians

Former UFC lightweight Melvin Guillard was in the news last year for all the wrong reasons, and now we know what his fate is with the law. According to a report from TMZ, Guillard recently plead guilty to knocking out civilians on two different occasions in Denver. However, he has struck a plea deal with law officials in Colorado and will not have to serve any more jail time.
