UFC women’s strawweight contender Joanna Jedrzejczyk fired back at Colby Covington, calling the welterweight a “big liar” for the things he’s said about her. Jedrzejczyk has not been a fan of the way Covington has conducted himself at American Top Team, as he’s feuded with his teammates such as Dustin Poirier and Jorge Masvidal. Covington has also gone after Jedrzejczyk, calling her “washed up” among other things.

The postponed main event for UFC London between welterweights Tyron Woodley and Leon Edwards will be rescheduled according to UFC president Dana White. There was speculation the UFC could scrap the Woodley vs. Edwards fight and instead book Woodley against rival Colby Covington. Not so, says White. Woodley vs. Edwards is on, as are all the other fights from UFC London, UFC Columbus and UFC Portland that have been postponed. White says all those fights will happen at a later date.

A pivotal bantamweight bout between top-ranked contenders Aljamain Sterling and Cory Sandhagen is the latest addition to the UFC San Diego card. Sandhagen had been tabbed to fight former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz, but “The Dominator” reportedly was not interested in the matchup. According to a report from Aaron Bronsteter of TSN, Sandhagen will instead take on Sterling in a battle between two of the top-five bantamweights in the world.

Despite White trying his best to keep UFC events from being scrapped, the UFC was forced to suspend its operations due to the coronavirus outbreak, which led to UFC London, UFC Columbus, and UFC Portland being postponed. UFC 249 will not be allowed to take place in Brooklyn, New York, but White has remained adamant that the card, featuring the main event for the lightweight belt between Nurmagomedov and Ferguson, will still go on.

Obviously, the risks associated with such a massive, international event are incredibly high, not to mention the logistical nightmare of organizing the event with so many travel restrictions in place.

The bout was originally expected to go down at UFC 249 on April 18 in Brooklyn, yet as the coronavirus pandemic has swept the planet, the status of the card has become quite uncertain. We already know it won’t be happening in New York, and perhaps not even on US soil.

Former UFC welterweight Ben Saunders says he was willing to fight on five days’ notice in order to get another chance to fight in the Octagon. The UFC was forced to cancel its card scheduled for London and immediately began looking at other options in order to save the event. UFC president Dana White admitted the promotion was in talks of doing a card at a tribal casino in Oklahoma, but ultimately couldn’t pull off the event due to the coronavirus quarantine. Saunders, though, was willing to fight on that card in order to get another chance to fight in the Octagon.
