Last weekend, in the co-main event of the exciting UFC Fortaleza card, streaking featherweight contender Renato Moicano took on one of the toughest challenges of his impressive career as he battled former UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo Jr. Unfortunately for Moicano and his growing fanbase, Aldo proved to be a bit too much too soon. The former champ won the fight by standing TKO in the second round.

Last Saturday night, in the co-main event of UFC Fortaleza, former UFC featherweight champ Jose Aldo stepped into the cage with a fellow Brazilian in Renato Moicano. Aldo looked every bit an MMA great in this fight, thumping Moicano to a second-round TKO victory. While this was the outcome he sought, however, he did not take great pleasure in defeating one of his countryman, and a fighter still on the come-up.

Yet having recently watched Dillashaw come up short in a flyweight title fight with Henry Cejudo — a fight he lost by first-round TKO — Moraes says he isn’t sure this fight is an opportunity Dillashaw deserves.

Aldo was able to catch Moicano with a beautiful counter punch that had Renato in all sorts of trouble. From there, Jose Aldo would fire off some ruthless body shots which prompted the referee to step in and stop the fight.

Earlier this week, the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) convened to decide the fates of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor, who were involved in a hectic, post-fight brawl after their UFC 229 contest. Conor McGregor was handed a $50,000 fine and six month suspension. Khabib Nurmagomedov, meanwhile, was hit with a much heavier $500,000 fine and a nine-month suspension, though this suspension can be reduced to six months if completes an anti-bullying public service announcement.
