One of the most popular fighters in the UFC may be on his way back to the Octagon. The last time we saw Nick Diaz fight was in January 2015 where he suffered a decision loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 183. The bout was later ruled a no-contest, this after both men failed drug tests. It’s been over four years since then and we haven’t heard much fight news from the Diaz camp. There were rumors of a Jorge Masvidal matchup back at UFC 235 in March, but that fight never happened. We continue to wait and see if Nick Diaz will ever return, and now, finally, it appears there’s some light at the end of the tunnel.

If a recent Instagram post from UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway is any indication, the Bottle Cap Challenge could be the next viral challenge to sweep the World Wide Web. This decidedly un-hip sportswriter is admittedly unsure what the Bottle Cap Challenge actually is, but in this instance, it seems to involve a brilliantly measured spinning back kick and an empty bottle of Tito’s Vodka.

UFC president Dana White wouldn’t be surprised if “champ-champ” Henry Cejudo defends his bantamweight gold first. Cejudo captured the bantamweight gold earlier this month. “Triple C” earned a third-round TKO victory over Marlon Moraes in the main event of UFC 238. Cejudo was already the flyweight champion going into the bout. While White has said that the men’s 125-pound division will stick around, Cejudo’s surgery could leave both the flyweight and bantamweight divisions at a standstill.

Earlier this week, news surfaced that UFC President Dana White is working with the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) to potentially overturn the lone loss on the record of Jon Jones: a 2009 disqualification against Matt Hamill. This controversial loss occurred when Jones unloaded a series of illegal, 12-6 elbows on Hamill, and White — along with UFC commentator Joe Rogan — feels like it should have been ruled a win for the future champ.
