Paulie Malignaggi trashes Conor McGregor after Miami arrest
When Conor McGregor was arrested for ““strong-armed robbery and misdemeanor criminal mischief” in Miami on Monday night — the result of his smashing a fan’s cellphone — you knew it was only a matter of time before his legions of haters starting chiming in.
Of all McGregor’s haters, it’s arguable that none are quite as dedicated to the cause as former boxer and new BKFC fighter Paulie Malignaggi.
Malignaggi, who has ceaselessly targeted Conor McGregor in interviews and on social media over the last two years, took a shot at the Irishman shortly after his arrest.
“Yo [Conor McGregor] don’t you think you rob your fans enough EVERYTIME they order 1 of your fights they gotta watch you get your ass kicked and quit?! If you need a phone that bad don’t sweat it bro I’ll just put you on my phone plan #NoBalls.” – Paulie Malignaggi on Twitter.
Conor McGregor posted bail and was released from jail on Monday night. Shortly after the fact, he released a statement on the incident, acknowledging that he needs to continue working on his patience.
The Irish MMA star last fought in October, when he was submitted by UFC lightweight king Khabib Nurmagomedov in the main event of the record-breaking UFC 229 pay-per-view.
Shortly after the fight, a chaotic brawl ensued between McGregor and Nurmagomedov’s teams. In January, McGregor was suspended six months for his role in this brawl. Because this suspension is retroactive to the date of the incident, he’ll be eligible to fight again in April.
Paulie Malignaggi, as aforementioned, recently signed with BKFC. He did not waste any time in challenging Conor McGregor to a bareknuckle fight.
