PHOTO | Mike Perry announces engagement, Colby Covington chimes in with ruthless comment
Mike Perry is getting engaged.
The all-action UFC welterweight announced his plans to marry his long-time girlfriend Danielle Nickerson on Instagram late last week.
This exciting news from Mike Perry generated messages of congratulations and well-wishes from a host of MMA stars, such as UFC welterweight champ Tyron Woodley, Artem Lobov, Curtis Blaydes, Siyar Bahadurzada, Sergio Pettis, Diego Sanchez, Jon Anik, and Paulo Costa.
Unfortunately for Mike Perry, this news also got a response from his arch nemesis Colby Covington, who unleashed an absolutely brutal comment.
See it below.
Mike Perry last fought in November, when he was submitted by Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone in Denver. This loss was preceded by a thrilling decision victory over certified badass Paul Felder, and a pair of decision losses to Max Griffin and Santiago Ponzinibbio.
Colby Covington, meanwhile, has not fought since June, when he defeated Rafael dos Anjos to capture the UFC interim welterweight belt. In the wake of this win, Covington was expected to get a crack at reigning welterweight champ Tyron Woodley, but after a lengthy dispute with the promotion and its president Dana White, this fight failed to materialize. Instead, Woodley is slated to defend his title against Kamaru Usman at UFC 235, while Covington is ostensibly waiting for a fight with the winner.
