UFC 230, which goes down inside New York City’s hallowed Madison Square Garden on November 3, is just around the corner, and the promotional has finally released an official poster for the card. Any delay in releasing this official poster, of course, can be attributed to the fact that the card didn’t even have a main event until very recently.

UFC 230 will be headlined by a heavyweight title fight between champion Daniel Cormier and challenger Derrick Lewis.

This bout, which was thrown together on short notice when the UFC had difficulty finding a main event for the card, will mark Daniel Cormier’s first defense of the UFC heavyweight title. He won the title in July, with a first-round knockout of Stipe Miocic. Cormier’s next most recent bouts occurred in the UFC light heavyweight division, where he is also the champion. He is 21-1 overall.

Derrick Lewis fought mere weeks ago, on the main card of UFC 229, where he delivered an epic, come-from-behind KO of Alexander Volkov. With this victory, Lewis improved to a strong 9-1 in his last 10, with his lone loss coming courtesy of Mark Hunt. Lewis is 21-5 overall.

Chris Weidman, who is the former UFC middleweight champ, will enter the UFC 230 main event having not fought since July of 2017, when he rebounded from a three-fight losing streak with a submission of top contender Kelvin Gastelum. His losses came courtesy of Gegard Mousasi, Yoel Romero and Luke Rockhold, who he rematches on the card. He’s 14-3 overall.

Rockhold last fought in February, when he was knocked out by Romero, who was overweight for the fight. This loss was preceded by a win over David Branch, and a loss to Michael Bisping, which marked the end of his title reign. He’s 16-4 overall.
