Management releases statement on Rachael Ostovich assault
Over the weekend, TMZ reported that UFC strawweight Rachael Ostovich had been attacked by “someone close to her.”
According to a report from MMA Fighting, The Honolulu Police Department has now opened an assault investigation into this attack.
Per Honolulu PD spokesperson Sarah Yoro, the attack involved “a 27-year-old female victim and a 27-year-old male suspect,” and “the victim suffered head injuries and was treated at a hospital.”
While The Honolulu Police Department doesn’t release names in cases of this type, MMA Fighting has confirmed that the victim is indeed Rachel Ostovich, and that the male in question is is allegedly her husband Arnold Berdon, who is also an MMA fighter.
Ostovich’s management, Sucker Punch Entertainment, has also released a short statement on this ugly event.

“A very unfortunate incident occurred Sunday night with Rachael Ostovich that ended with her suffering a fractured orbital and other injuries,” the management company wrote. “Rachael is now home from the hospital with family and will be going back for further check ups on her orbital. The family would like to ask for some privacy as they sort through this matter. We would like to thank the UFC for all their support on this matter as well as the fans and media for your concern.”
Prior to this attack, Rachael Ostovich was scheduled for a January 19 battle with Paige VanZant. This bout as been cancelled as the result of the injuries Ostovich sustained in this attack.
