Pros react to Korean Zombie stopping Renato Moicano at UFC Greenville
A key featherweight contest between perennial division contenders the Korean Zombie and Renato Moicano headlined tonight’s UFC Greenville event.
Chan Sung Jung (14-5 MMA), aka The Korean Zombie, returned to action for the first time since suffering a brutal last-second knockout loss to Yair Rodriguez at November’s UFC Anniversary event Denver. Prior to his shocking setback to ‘El Pantera’, Jung was coming off a sensational first round knockout victory over Dennis Bermudez.
As for Renato Moicano, the Brazilian also entered tonight’s UFC Greenville main event looking to rebound. Moicano was coming off a TKO loss to MMA legend Jose Aldo in his most recent effort, which took place at February’s UFC Fight Night event in Fortaleza.
Tonight’s UFC Greenville main event did not last long. Chan Sung Jung was able to land a big overhand right that sent Moicano crashing to the canvas in the early seconds. From there, the Korean Zombie would deliver some brutal ground and pound which forced the referee to mercifully step in and stop the contest.
