Pros react to Ronaldo Souza vs Jack Hermansson at UFC Fort Lauderdale
Tonight’s UFC Fort Lauderdale event was headlined by a key middleweight bout featuring perennial contenders Ronaldo Souza and Jack Hermansson.
Ronaldo Souza was most previously seen inside the octagon at November’s UFC 230 event, where he scored a spectacular knockout victory over former champ Chris Weidman.
Having won four of his past six contests, “Jacare” claims he was promised a title opportunity if he proved victorious over Hermansson this evening.
As for “The Joker”, Jack Hermansson entered tonight’s UFC Fort Lauderdale main event on a three fight win streak, his latest being a submission win over former WSOF “champ champ” David Branch.
Tonight’s headliner between Souza and Hermansson resulted in an absolutely grueling five-round contest.
Hermansson was able to hurt Jacare early, but Souza was able to comeback strong in round three.
The middleweights would battle back and forth in rounds four and five with ‘The Joker’ seemingly getting off the better volume of strikes.
In the end, the judges in attendance ruled Jack Hermansson the winner by way of unanimous decision.
