Chris Weidman (14-3 MMA) returned for the first time sinceUFC on FOX 25 in July of 2017, where he scored a third-round submission victory over soon-to-be title challenger Kelvin Gastelum.

Meanwhile, Jacare Souza had most recently seen action at May’s UFC 224 event in Brazil, where he suffered a split-decision loss to the aforementioned Kelvin Gastelum.
