One of if not the brightest prospect to come from Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contender Series is the bantamweight division’s ‘Sugar’ Sean O’Malley.

Unfortunately for the 24-year old star in the making, he’s been sidelined since March with injury as well as a suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC).

Having supposed to have fought at UFC 229 in October, O’Malley would lose out on the opportunity due to his test failure. He was originally set to take on Jose Alberto Quinonez.

Now, the ‘Sugar Show’ is beginning to find some clarity as he updated us on his situation.

“Everyday is a day closer to getting back into the cage . Coming off back to back surgeries my number one priority is getting my body back to 100% . Looking like June/July will be the return of the best show in the world , The Sugar Show .” O’Malley posted on Instagram.

Currently an undefeated 10-0 in his career thus far, Sean O’Malley has blazed through his competition for the most part.

On season one of the Contender Series, the MMA Lab product scored one of the best knockouts in the show’s short history when he one punch KO’d Alfred Khashakyan at the end of the first round.

Following that performance would be his promotional debut inside the UFC as he took on Terrion Ware. O’Malley would end up getting the win via unanimous decision.

In his most recent bout, however, O’Malley really looked sensational while digging deep and fighting through a badly injured foot as he defeated Andre Soukhamthath by unanimous decision. As seen in his Instagram post above, he was in so much pain after the fight that he couldn’t even stand for his interview with Joe Rogan

Who would you like to see welcome Sean O’Malley back to the Octagon?
