Report | Khabib Nurmagomedov was experiencing seizures in the lead up to UFC 229

Khabib Nurmagomedov successfully defended his lightweight title at last weekend’s UFC 229 event, scoring a fourth-round submission win over Conor McGregor.

“The Eagle” was able to dominate McGregor on the ground, and even dropped the Irish superstar with a right hand in round two.

Eventually Khabib Nurmagomedov (27-0 MMA) was able to secure a neck-crank submission in round four which forced McGregor (21-4 MMA) to tapout.

One week after scoring the biggest victory of his professional career, a report has now surfaced that Khabib Nurmagomedov was actually suffering from seizures just days prior to the UFC 229 main event.

“Two days before the fight with Conor @TeamKhabib was experiencing seizures. He stated this in an interview on the first state channel now. Khabib did not want to talk about it.. In the event of a defeat, everyone would take that as an excuse.” – MMA Team Dagestan

According to the report from MMA Team Dagestan, Khabib Nurmagomedov chose not to discuss the seizures because in the event that he was defeated by McGregor, he did not want the seizures to serve as an excuse.

Immediately following his emphatic win over “Mystic Mac”, Khabib Nurmagomedov proceeded to leap out of the octagon and attack one of McGregor’s teammates Dillon Danis.

That decision resulted in the Nevada State Athletic Commission withholding Khabib’s whopping $2 million fight purse.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has also been temporarily suspended by the commission for his UFC 229 post-fight actions. An official hearing to decide the Russians full punishment will take place on October 24.

Most recently “The Eagle” threatened to leave the UFC, this if the promotion decides to fire his teammates involved in the UFC 229 post-fight brawl.
