Former UFC title challenger Yoel Romero (13-3 MMA) will return to the octagon this Spring at UFC Miami.

Yoel Romero

That news comes via Brazilian news outlet Combate, who broke the following news on Twitter.

According to the report, Yoel Romero will take on Paulo Costa at UFC Fight Night Miami on April 27.

If true, the event will mark the promotions first in Miami, Florida in over sixteen years.

Yoel Romero was most recently seen in action at UFC 225 this past June, where he suffered a split-decision loss to current UFC middleweight champion Robert Whittaker.

“The Soldier of God” has gone 9-2 under the UFC banner, scoring notable wins over Derek Brunson, Tim Kennedy, Lyoto Machida, Ronaldo Souza, Chris Weidman and Luke Rockhold during that span.

Paulo Costa

Meanwhile, Paulo Costa (12-0 MMA) currently boasts a perfect professional record. “The Eraser” was last seen in action at UFC 226, where he scored a second-round TKO victory over Uriah Hall.

Costa and Romero were initially slated to meet at UFC 230, but that bout was later scratched as Yoel was still healing up from his war with Whittaker.
