Stipe Miocic on fight with Daniel Cormier ‘9 out of 10 times I win that fight’

The heavyweight division has really changed drastically since the start of 2018 and it only continues to produce some madness.

In July, we witnessed some history being made as we got one of the first-ever meeting between a UFC light heavyweight and heavyweight champion as Daniel Cormier went up to challenge for Stipe Miocic’s title.

The end result would end up producing a double champion in Cormier as he would dethrone the longest-reigning heavyweight kin via first-round knockout.

Miocic has yet to return to action since but feels he deserves an immediate rematch and took to social media today to reflect a bit on the fight.

“There’s no way, hands down I was a way better fighter than he was. 9 out of 10 times I win that fight. That was the one time. It just kills me to say because I am a way better fighter than he is. I know it is and everyone else knows it, I think he knows it too.”

Miocic also made an appearance this past weekend on an episode of The Purple Couch (via FanSided) where he further expressed what he believes may have gone wrong in the big super fight.

“I felt great. I think I may have gotten too confident. I didn’t think he’d hit that hard. Apparently, he hit harder than I thought, you know, he put me down but I definitely thought I was winning the fight.

[What I would do different is] Just don’t be an idiot. When he clinched – I knew what he was doing in the clinch and he kept hitting me and I’m like, ‘I’m fine. I felt fine.’ Like I said I got confident, which I never do, I’m like a worrywart in there.”

With Cormier now set to defend his heavyweight title against Derrick Lewis at UFC 230 on November 3, it makes us continue to wonder what exactly could be next for the former champion Miocic.
