Tony Ferguson, Dana White disagree on Ferguson’s fight readiness
Speaking on Twitter, top UFC lightweight contender Tony Ferguson recently divulged that, after some worrying reports, he’s been cleared to compete in the Octagon again.

“My Team & I Are Ready,” Ferguson wrote in a classic, all-caps Tweet. “UFC Knows I Passed Evals. See You All On The Mat Soon Enough.”
Speaking at the UFC 236 post-fight press conference, however, UFC President Dana White cast doubt on this claim from Tony Ferguson.
“I don’t know if Tony’s ready to fight,” White said at the post-fight press conference (transcript via MMA Mania). “I don’t know if that’s absolutely accurate. Because we haven’t had anybody evaluate him yet.”
Upon hearing this comment from White, Tony Ferguson took to Twitter once again, challenging the UFC’s boss’s assertion and claiming he was offered a fight by the promotion the week before UFC 236.

Tony Ferguson has not fought since UFC 229 in October of last year. On that night, he defeated the former lightweight champ Anthony Pettis by corner stoppage in an absolutely thrilling fight. With this victory, the former interim lightweight champion extended his win-streak to an incredible 11 straight, one of the best active streaks in MMA. Highlights of this incredible run include victories over Pettis, Kevin Lee, Rafael dos Anjos, Lando Vannata, Edson Barboza, Josh Thomson, and Abel Trujillo. Ferguson is currently 24-3 overall.
