Tyron Woodley calls Kamaru Usman ‘a liar’ after saying the fight is on, the two engage in lengthy back and forth
It seems like every now and then we will inch closer and closer to clarity in regards to the top of the UFC’s always stacked, 170-pound welterweight division. However, after looking like we may know the next title fight, the champion shut that down and fast.
Top contender, “The Nigerian Nightmare” Kamaru Usman recently dominated former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos on route to a unanimous decision win. Thus setting himself up for a title shot or at the very least, one fight from it.
Since then, UFC President Dana White has made it clear that Usman could indeed jump the No. 1 contender, former interim champion Colby Covington. And as the days go on, that looks more and more like it will be the case.
Usman has already revealed his bout agreement for a UFC 235 title fight against the champion Tyron Woodley, and today he claimed that the fight was done and signed.
However, according to the champion Woodley, this was far from the truth as he responded to Usman which kicked off a lengthy exchange on Twitter.
What am I lying about? Do I not have a signed contract with your name on it? Just face the reality March 2nd you’re standing across the octagon from Me. Now get your shit together and let’s run it @TWooodley https://t.co/mvgRM3MTEz

I’m coming off stupid…? The order has been determined by the Boss himself @danawhite now like you said you’re the only one who hasn’t signed. I wonder what that means 👀👀🤔🤔 https://t.co/cSeKcCqgpK

For Tyron Woodley, his last fight came in September 2018 when he defended his title in the UFC 228 main event against the previously unbeaten Brit Darren Till.
Woodley would beat Till with relative ease as he only absorbed a single strike on his path to a second-round submission victory via d’arce choke.
This win would go down as Woodley’s third straight since winning the title from Robbie Lawler in 2016 (fourth if counting his draw with Stephen Thompson).
Assuming no funny business happens and Woodley is still the champion in the coming months, would you rather see him defend his title against Kamaru Usman or Colby Covington next?
