UFC champion Jon Jones offers to train star NHL enforcer Ryan Reaves
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones successfully defended his title at last weekend’s UFC 235 event, defeating Anthony Smith via unanimous decision.
It was another brilliant performance from “Bones”, who seemingly had his way with “Lionheart” for the majority of their five-round championship contest.
The victory served as number twenty-four of Jon Jones (24-1 MMA) professional career.
The lone blemish on “Bones” record came way back in December of 2009, this after Jones was disqualified for using illegal elbows in a fight he was dominating against Matt Hamill.
In the lead up to last weekend’s UFC 235 event, Jon Jones was interviewed by NBC Sports Radio’s Helen Yee.
Yee, who does reporting for the Las Vegas Knights of the National Hockey League (NHL), informed Jones that he had a big supporter in Vegas’ star enforcer Ryan Reaves.
Jon Jones not only thanked Ryan for his support, but also invited Reaves to come and train with him at Jackson’s MMA Academy in Albuquerque.
Check it out:
“Well Ryan (Reaves), I appreciate your support so much brother. Thank you for the support and you’re more than welcome to come down to Jackson’s MMA some time. I’ll take you out, and bring you to the gym. Maybe we can get your enforcing to be even sharper. How about that?” – Jon Jones
For those who don’t know, Ryan Reaves plays right wing for the Las Vegas Golden Knights of the National Hockey League.
The 32-year-old native of Winnipeg, Reaves, walks around at 6’1″ and weighs 225-pounds.
Reaves is known as one of the toughest enforcers in the NHL today.
See proof of that proclamation below.
