When you hear the name “Gracie”, you automatically think of someone with some pretty damn good Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Well, the case is no different for the son of Rickson, Kron Gracie.
It now appears that another Gracie may be finding their way back into the Octagon as ESPN’s Brett Okamoto reports that the UFC is looking to bring the BJJ wizard in.
Hearing the UFC is working on signing decorated grappler Kron Gracie, son of Rickson Gracie, with the intent to have him fight at UFC 233 on Jan. 26 in Anaheim. Gracie is 4-0 in MMA, including a win over Tatsuya Kawajiri in 2016.

If the UFC signs Kron, he will be the first Gracie to compete in the UFC since Roger who only fought once for the promotion in 2013 when he lost a unanimous decision to Tim Kennedy at UFC 162.
In regards to Kron however, the 30-year old featherweight has started out his MMA career as the BJJ force that he was expected to be as he’s racked up a record of 4-0 with all of his wins coming by way of submission. As mentioned by Okamoto, his last fight came in 2016 over UFC, Strikeforce, and Pride FC veteran, Tatsuya Kawajiri where he won the RIZIN World Grand Prix.
Gracie’s long list of accomplishments in the Jiu-Jitsu world is long enough to where it would be very easy to miss something. But two of his most notable accomplishments are winning the 2013 ADCC Submission Wrestling Championship gold medal and a bronze medal in the 2011 championships.
Some of the notable opponents that Gracie has submitted includes the likes of Garry Tonon, Shinya Aoki, Jonathan Torres, and Otavio Souza.
With the possibility of Gracie making his way to the UFC, BJJ fans are already salivating at the possibility of Gracie vs next featherweight title challenger, Brian Ortega.
