UFC on ESPN+ 1 Results: Paige VanZant submits Rachael Ostovich (Highlights)

A women’s strawweight bout between Paige VanZant and Rachael Ostovich took place during tonight’s UFC on ESPN+ 1 main card from Brooklyn.

Paige VanZant was last seen in action 12 months ago where she suffered a decision loss and broken arm to Jessica-Rose Clark.

Round one begins and Rachael Ostovich presses forward and is able to secure an early takedown. She immediately moves to half guard. VanZant scrambles and gets back to the full guard position. Paige is using a high guard here. Rachael really is not doing much here. The crowd swells with boos. The referee steps in and stands them up. Ostovich with a big right hand and then she shoots in and scores a takedown. She immediately passes to half guard and looks to move to mount. Paige VanZant prevents her from doing that for now but Rachael continues to work. “PVZ” tries to scramble free but can’t. Ostovich is looking to setup a choke. Paige remains relaxed but she needs to keep Rachael from taking mount. Just over one minute remains in round one. Ostovich with some punches from the top. VanZant rolls for a leg lock. It looks deep but Rachael defends. Paige with another attempt. This one appears to be deeper. Racahel escapes and looks to setup and armbar. VanZant defends the submission attempt and the horn sounds to end round one.

Round two begins and Paige VanZant lands a low kick. Rachael responds with a right hand. Paige circles and then leaps in with a superman punch. Ostovich with a right hand and then shoots in for a takedown. She gets it. Paige gets back up to her feet and lands a good shot. She gets Rachael to the floor and begins unleashing ground and pound. Ostovich is in all sorts of trouble. Paige switches to an armbar and it is tight. Rachael is forced to tapout. WOW!
