UFC Phoenix Results: Andre Fili defeats Myles Jury (Highlights)

A featherweight fight between Andre Fili and Myles Jury kicked off tonight’s UFC Phoenix main card.

Myles Jury (17-3) enters tonight’s contest looking to rebound, this after suffering a TKO loss to Chad Mendes in his most recent octagon appearance this past July.

Prior to the setback, Jury was coming off back-to-back wins over opponets Rick Glenn and Mike De La Torre.

Meanwhile, Andre Fili was last seen in action at August’s UFC Fight Night event in Lincoln, where he suffered a split-decision loss to Michael Johnson.

Like Jury, Fili had also picked up back-to-back wins prior to his recent loss, defeating opponents Dennis Bermudez and Artem Lobov.

Round one begins and Fili comes out quickly with a jab. He lands another and Jury responds with a low kick. Jury circles and then lands another low kick. Fili is hopping around and working his jab. Jury lands a body kick. Fili counters with a punch that appears to stun Myles. Jury circles off the fence and lands a low kick. Fili replies with a hard low kick and then a jab. Fili snaps another jab from the pocket. Jury needs to get busy. He lands a short left hook. Fili responds with a crisp jab that busts Jury open. Jury circles and then lands a hard low kick. Fili continues to pressure and lands a low kick. Andre Fili snaps a jab. Jury replies with on of his own. He follows that up with a flying knee that misses the mark. Fili with a low kick. Myles smiles and walks forward. Jury with a nice jab. Fili replies with one of his own. Jury urges him to come forward. Myles Jury with a nice left hand. That got Fili’s attention. The fighters trade shots in the pocket. The horn sounds to end round one.

Round two begins and Fili comes forward and lands a low kick. Jury takes the center of the octagon and lands a jab. He scores with a left hook. Andre responds with a low kick. Jury with another jab. Fili responds with a nice counter punch. Jury continues to pressure now. The fighters trade punches in the pocket. Fili circles out and lands a chopping low kick. A nice jab now from Fili. Jury responds with one of his own followed by a right hand over the top. Fili comes forward with a flurry that misses. Jury goes to the body with a jab. Fili responds with a low kick. Both men land jabs. Fili with a low kick. Jury comes forward but eats a stiff jab for his efforts. Two minutes remain in round two. Jury with a jab. Fili side steps and throws a body kick. Jury attempts to go high with a kick but it is blocked. Myles circles to his left. He lands a jab as Fili is coming forward. Andre gets his footing and lands a right. Jury with a spinning back fist that rocks Fili. Andre is down. Jury is on him with punches. Fili does a good job of wrapping up but Jury passes to half guard and begins landing more strikes. Fili does a nice job gettingt back to full guard. The horn sounds to end round two.

Round three begins and the fighters trade low kicks to start. Fili with a jab. Jury lands another low kick. Fili feints with a jab and then lands a body kick. Jury with a left hook but Fili counters with a straight right. Andre misses with a high kick. Both fighters land their jabs. Fili with another jab. He is definitely the bussier of the two fighters thus far in round three. Jury with a nice left hook. Fili circles and then throws a left hand that partially connects. Fury with a left and then a right behind it. Fili smiles but those were good shots. Fili comes forward with a straight right. Jury keeps him at bay with a front kick. Jury with a jab now. Fili circles and then fires off a low kick. Jury is trying to press forward but Fili is keeping at distance with his jab. Fili with a left hook. Jury responds with a jab and then a right hand behind it. Fili responds with a body kick. Jury with a jab and then a hook. Fili gets off the fence and lands a low kick. The horn sounds to end round three.
